A farm in the middle of the city
![]() |
Under the motto "be a farmer one day long", children, teenagers and adults have the opportunity to make stable tours and learn through games the work that lies behind a farm. |
On a four hectars surface, the farm is made up of eight stables, a wooden country house and circa 100 animals.
Our guests can feed and pet sheep, goats, geese, pigs, rabbits, hens as well as bake their own bread.
|
During the stable tours you will attended by our trained personnel. They will introduce you into the world of agriculture and the life at the farm. |

For schools and kindergardens we offer special programs.
Additionally, seminars take place on a regular basis, our guest speakers covering themes such as agriculture, nutrition and environment.
In the surroundings of our children farm you can find a butterfly path at Cobenzl as well as forest playgrounds.

Along the butterfly meadow filled with native wild herbs, laid out by the department of the forestry and agriculture commission office in Vienna (Forstamt und Landwirtschaftsbetrieb der Stadt Wien - MA 49) guests can observe several types of butterflies. |
Several stations inform you about the native, typical and conspicuous types of butterflies and their host plants.
Information boards show portraits of typical moths such as the scarce swallowtail, the white-letter hairstreak and the admiral.
Short texts and impressive photos show the development of butterflies: from egg to catterpillar and then a grown butterfly.
